We continue our journey through the 20th century with the ‘Roaring 20s’ and the ‘Great Depression’ that followed. Lookout for surrealist artists like Salvador Dali with his melting clocks and the invention of the television. Did you know that television was invented in the UK by Scotsman John Logie Baird or that his original television cameras were a fire hazard?

About this Topic
In our new Creativity Ray, we are going to be finding out about creative people of the 20th century from all walks of life who used their gifts to make life better and more interesting for people at the time and also for people today.
There are 5 Rays, which provide a programme for one year’s sessions for a children’s group running during term-time. For each Ray, there is a set of topics, each of which comprises a theme for a term or half-term.
The sessions are presented in a pick-and-mix way - some information, some games, crafts, videos, etc. You are encouraged to adapt the material to your own setting , the time you have available and the resources you have. Don’t think that you have to do everything on offer.
